HERSHEY, Pa. — Dot’s, the Hershey-owned brand behind America’s best-selling seasoned pretzels, has entered the snack mix category for the first time with the launch of Dot’s Original Snack Mix, the company announced. The product is rolling out at retailers nationwide in 4.4 oz, 14 oz, and 31 oz bags.
The launch marks the first time the brand’s signature Original homestyle seasoning has appeared on a product other than its pretzel twists, and represents Dot’s biggest lineup expansion since its Buffalo flavor became a permanent offering.
Four pieces, no filler
The company is positioning the mix directly against traditional snack mixes, which it argues are padded with bland filler pieces. Each bag contains four components:
- Dot’s Original Seasoned Mini Pretzels — miniature twists coated in the brand’s flagship Original seasoning.
- Dot’s Original Seasoned Corn Cereal — crispy corn cereal squares carrying the same Original seasoning.
- Dot’s Bold Cheese Seasoned Pita Chips — pita chips with a sharp cheese seasoning new to the Dot’s lineup.
- Savory Garlic Rye Chips — garlic-seasoned rye chips, the traditional snack-mix staple.
Eric Bowers, Hershey’s VP of salty snacks marketing, described the product’s philosophy as “no filler, no letdowns” — every piece intended to deliver distinct flavor rather than blend into the background.
Aimed at the hosting occasion
Hershey is marketing the mix as “the Bold Pick” for entertaining — game day spreads, movie nights, and party tables – while the 4.4 oz bag targets single-serve and trial purchases. The strategy tracks with the brand’s recent playbook: its Buffalo pretzel flavor launched around football season in 2025 and was made permanent after strong demand.
Sizes and availability
| Bag size | Positioning |
| 4.4 oz | Single-serve / trial |
| 14 oz | Standard pantry bag |
| 31 oz | Party / hosting size |
The company said pricing is set by individual retailers and that available sizes will vary by store. The rollout is underway now at grocery chains, big-box retailers, and warehouse clubs across the U.S., with the mix also available online through Amazon.
Why it matters
Dot’s has grown from Dorothy Henke’s North Dakota kitchen recipe into the #1 pretzel brand in the U.S., acquired by The Hershey Company in 2021 in a deal reported at roughly $1.2 billion. The snack mix launch signals Hershey’s intent to stretch the Dot’s seasoning across new categories within its salty snacks portfolio, which also includes SkinnyPop and Pirate’s Booty. For a brand whose fans routinely say they’d “eat anything” coated in the Original seasoning, the mix is the first real test of that claim beyond the pretzel aisle.
